Friday October 30, 2015

Up at 8:30 to meditate, it was daylight!
I did the 'go faster now' meditation. Feeling the buzz in me, then outside of me and then vibrating at the same frequency; always fun;)
I woke Dan from a deep sleep.
We showered and went to breakfast at the breakfast room. A sweet woman asked if we would like fruit and tortillas? Yes!
We each gathered a hard boiled egg, peeled, and nestled it in a crock pot chili salsa.  orange juice and coffee. Also on hand were Silk soy milk and granola.
We headed Norte to Chimayo for Mass at 11:00.

Then into the Sancuario for holy dirt, which i gathered in a Pilgrim potty bag! Thank god i had one:)
We bought holy Chimayo chili at the gift shop after lunch at El Rancho de Chimayo. ( and bought NM lavendar essential oil)
The morning was drizzly.
Dan had a combo plate and i a cheese quesadilla with guacamole and sour
cream. Sopapillas were a real treat!

I noticed we were near Abiquiu so we drove there! Georgia O'Keefe painted from there. We were looking for her home and actually found it, but  a man waved us out of the compound!

On to Ghost Ranch. It was so beautiful I wanted to paint the trees and hills and rocks! We found a few good shots and i walked the labyrinth while Dan took in the sight and smells of juniper at 7000 ft. The air was thin. I was so hyper

Home at three thirty to watch a few innings of the World Series and dress for dinner.
We meet Mike and Nancy at La Posada for a drink and chips. They flew into today and we'll have dinner at 8:00 st La Boca Tapas. Mike takes me by the arm as Dan hails the hotel shuttle
My three favorite items were the figs stuffed with cheve and wrapped in bacon.
Artichokes
Ahi carpaccio with black olive sorbet.
We are home now, Mets won and go to bed.
Whatta Day!
Sweet Dreams

Thursday October 29, 2015

*Leave home for the airport at 7:30. It took one hour to drive five miles to the airport! We were discussing the possibility of missing our plane, when we passed the four car smash up in the left lane of the I -205 bridge. Check in went easily. We walked directly to our gate. In half hour we were in Seattle.
Then we caught our connecting flight and settled in. Dan napped deeply and I got into my book, " Me before You".

SEA to ALB
In flight Alaskan Amber Ale
Deep orange/ Lt flavor /Unremarkable
Starbucks turkey and cheddar sandwich on whole grain/ with kale
Dan chose ham and Swiss on rye.
We had a Faux pas at Baggage, last one there! Our luggage had been removed to the ticket counter. We found it, ha!

We check in to the El Rey Inn. The first room is cramped and upstairs, we ask for another and check into 61. It is a suite with gas fireplace.

I Call Dad who is fine;)
We choose The Ranch house for dinner. The lady at Avis gave us a coupon for a free appetizer there. It had the fewest stars which indicated 'affordable'. It was a steal! I ordered sides: green chili cornbread, Cabbage slaw, and Baked Beans all for a five spot.!
Free chips/ brown salsa/ queso!
Dan chose the New Mexico style Flat Iron with calabacitas*
And we each ordered a local draft beer-Santa Fe Pale Ale.
Home to watch the Oregon Ducks and blog. It's rainy here.
