Sunday November 1, 2015

We set our clocks back! So waking was at 6:30. I sat and crawled back in to bed for another half hour. Dan set an alarm.
We met Mike and Nancy at 8:30 and enjoyed breakfast at The Palacio Cafe. My first huevos rancheros with decaf this trip.

Nancy arranged for a Historic Walking Tour with Steve Collins at 10:00 am
We walked in the sun and stopped for a mini lesson for three hours. So many sights and stories. He suggested a book about Bishop Lamy by a Horgan author.
We each paid $25. It was great! He answered many  questions . He also  suggested a. Train ride from Las Vegas to Santa Fe. We saw how adobes were constructed and saw an asecia.
The first NativeAmerican saint.
St Francis dances on water.
Black eyed susans near five graces

We regrouped for a breather, and then met up behind the Julia ( Staab) Lounge for lunch. We had planned to eat a picnic style but the family decided to order Cesar salads and beers with chips and salsa. Then, we pulled out last night's boxed leftovers and feasted on Pasquals.
After lunch we caught a lift to the Railyard to browse a flea market and met two artists: Raya and Douglas Johnson. we bought two boxes of Christmas cards. Her art was beasutiful. Mike might buy a piece, it was expensive;)
I tasted a El Pecos Porter.
Then home to chill, watch the Seahawks and prepare for dinner at La Tabla de los Santo @ 7:00. I wore Franny's taupe designer dress.
The restaurant was at the St Francis Hotel, and nearly vacant of diners. They no not serve cocktails, only beer and wine. We order d a delicious Tempranillo! I had a huge beet salad and a mac cheese lolli pop appetizer , which was ample! Dan offered the remaining pop to our driver who gleefully accepted;)
Once at La Inn de la Pisada, we settled into Julias for a nightcap and good
Byes to Mike and Nancy who leave early tomorrow morning. We returned to our room to watch the Kansas City Royals take theWorld Series in 12 innings, scoring 5 runs in the eleventh.
Good Night!
